New Sound Design Reel is up!

I uploaded a new sound design reel including work spanning from animation to advertising. You can check it out here.

Here's a breakdown of every clip included:

00:02

Crononauta (2020) - Animated Series - dir. Martín Felice

Crononauta tells the story of a time traveler, John Titor, who must go back in time to save his

future. His world is dominated by a race of sentient lizard monsters who enslave mankind. I made all the sound design and audio post production for this 8 episode animated series.

This particular scene shows the device used for time traveling. Our sound design references were the "lightspeed missile" scene in Star Wars The Last Jedi and the Frame Shift Drive jump sequence from the videogame Elite: Dangerous. There's mechanical components referencing the makeshift nature of the engine, clock sounds reminiscent of the concept of time, a couple of Shepard's Tones to evoke infinite charging of the device and finally an explosion that ruptures time and space.

Cachantún Origen (2021) - Ad Campaign - Feels, Porta

Ad campaign for a chilean mineral water brand. The concept was pure water directly from the source or "origen": mountains, caves and underground streams. This particular clip shows a bottle made of rock being shaped by flowing water.

00:30

Paloma Mami - Goteo (2021) - Viral Video - Neosonic

Paloma Mami is a famous local singer. Her 2021 single "Goteo" featured a music video based on a fighting game aesthetic. The concept for this viral video was to put sound to the whole fight. I made the sound design and a music cover of the original song (full version here).

00:50

Shaboom! (2016-2019) - Educational Animated WebSeries - BimBam

Shaboom! was a webseries aimed at kids to teach about religious concepts in judaism. The concept was an animated funny show, similar to The Fairly OddParents. Bimbam was located in California at the time, I worked with them from Santiago, Chile without issues. Eventually Bimbam went away but the directors wanted to keep working with me on new projects. I'm currently working with them for a new company called OpenDor Media.

Ghost in the Shell (1995) - Sound re-design (2016) - Mamoru Oshii

I'm a fan of this anime and I always wanted it to have better audio. A couple of years ago I made asound re-design of the full tank battle scene, complete with new voice talent and music (full version here).

01:22

Iron Finger (2016) - Mobile Game - IRONFIST Studios

Sound design for an indie mobile videogame. The game was very simple, so the emphasis was on having satisfactory sound feedback for the player. The game has since been removed from the appstore.

01:35

Sonic CD Intro (1993) - Sound re-design (2022) - Sega

I always loved this animated intro. It lacked any kind of sound design so I took it upon myself to do it. I used a modern approach for the design but also complemented Sonic's actions with the classic sound effects from the videogames.

01:55

Parque Valle Cochamó (2021) - Ad Campaign - dir. Cristóbal Clément

This was a video for a chilean national park and natural reserve. I used a naturalistic,

documentary-like approach with a few design elements for impact.

02:07

Hellblade, Senua's Sacrifice (2017) - Sound Design Test for Videogame (2021) - Ninja Theory

This is a clip from my submission to Ninja Theory's sound designer job offering last year. Ninja theory only provided me with Senua's reactions. The general concept was realistic fighting feedback with some fantastic elements. The monster growls are a variety of processed animal sounds, but most importantly, the processed voice of a woman. This represents Senua's troubled past (and present).

My complete submission can be found here.

02:29

Readiris (2018) - Motion Graphics - Limonade

A simple motion graphics video. The concept was clean and futuristic.

02:37

Crononauta (2020) - Animated Series - dir. Martín Felice

Sound design for the opening titles of this animated series. My approach was to capture the synthwave/retro aesthetic using a variety of synthesizers. Some of the same elements are used in certain sequences representing space and time.
